Conference Personal Progress Project

Looking for a Personal Progress 10 hour Project? Watch/Listen to General Conference this weekend!

What you will need to do.
Watch/Listen to...
Both sessions Saturday
Both sessions Sunday
And Women Conference (from last weekend)

Take notes on each speaker.
Then after you have finished all the sessions, write a journal entry. The journal entry will be on whatever "personal progress value" you decided to use for this project.

You will need a new notebook or journal. This will keep all your notes and journal entry organized and together. You will enjoy looking back at this notebook/journal later.

Here are some ideas on what Values you could use this as a project.

Faith or Knowledge: Write about how your faith or knowledge has increased by listening to the words of the prophets. Then write your testimony on this value.

Divine Nature, Individual Worth, or Integrity:  Write about any new ideas you have on how you can increase your divine nature, individual worth, or integrity. Then write your testimony on this value.

Choice and Accountability:  Write about your choice to listen to all sessions of conference.  Include ideas on how conference affected you, as well as your testimony of the importance of making good choices.

You do not have to use any of these ideas. Talk with a parent or leader to come up with an idea that will work for you!

International night: Argentina

M's sister talked about the culture of Argentina as she taught us how to make Empanadas. What I loved about the culture is the focus on the family, huge daily family lunches and the humble simple life style.

Then arm wrestling, leg wrestling and the human pretzel! Thank you "M" and family for opening up your home to us!!! Thank you for planning such an amazing, educational, fun and delicious night! Your family is truly amazing!! We love and appreciate all that you do!

What was your favorite thing you leanred about Argentina?

Recipe for  Empanadas
4 cups flour
1-2 tsp salt
2-3 tablespoons salt
2 tablespoons butter, chilled
12 tablespoons lard or shortening, chilled
3/4-1 cup water

1. Sift flour into bowl. Stir in salt and sugar

2. Blend butter and shortening into flour mixture.

3. Whisk egg yolks and water together. Stir mixture into dry ingredients a little at a time until dough is thoroughly mixed and smooth. The dough will seem a bit shaggy until it is thoroughly chilled.

4. Cover the dough with Saran Wrap and refrigerate for an hour.

5. Roll out dough

6. Cut with round pastry cutter

7. Fill dough with any filling you would like: pizza sauce and cheese, ham and cheese .. Etc

8. You can either fry or bake the empanadas. Bake at 400 for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Posting on the blog!

Young Women!!! Do you take lots of pictures during activities? Would you like to learn how to blog?? We are looking for a few young women to help post. Please contact Sister Hunter for more information.

Come Unto Christ Music Video

There are a lot of things in my life that move me.  But consistently through the years, many of the most vivid and powerful spiritual experiences that I have had come to me not from the talks I hear, but from the music. A beautiful song is an inspiring thing.  So, I am happy that we are learning this years theme song of "Come Unto Christ".

You can watch it again and sing along yourself here:  Come Unto Christ

Happy singing!!
